Biography
St. Leo of Catania was an educated priest in Ravenna, Italy and then moved to Reggio Calabria in Italy. He was later made the Bishop of the latter Catania region in Italy. It is said that an angel appeared to the people of Catania in drams making them point to Leo.
He fought tirelessly to counter Blasphemous magicians who were competing the Church and people chose as an alternative. The governor of Sicily ordered his arrest when he opposed the Iconoclasm order by the Byzantine empire. He spent time in the mountains while in exile living as a hermit and caring for the poor.
