Saint’s Biography
Saint Maelrubius was born in 642 in the Derry, Ireland. He was descended of King Niall of Ireland and Saint Comgall the Great. Maelrubius became a monk in Comgall’s monastery in Bangor.
In 671, Ma-Rui went to Scotland with others monks and founded several churches and monastery. He was known for his strict monastic life and miracles. Ma-Rui also built a church on an island in Loch Maree.
