Saint Malchus of Ephesus Biography
Saint Malchus of Ephesus, one of a group of seven young men in a cave, hoping to prevent the persecution of Decius in the year 250. Found and arrested, they were instructed by the pro-consul in Ephesus to give up their beliefs. They were rejected and sentenced. According to legend, they were walled in their hidden cave and guarded by the dog Al Rakim. when the cave wall 479 was broken, all are awake!
It is likely that the adolescents were tortured to death in various ways and buried in the cave. The confusion about the resurrection story arose from the phrase "sleeping in the Lord" and was 479 when their relics were discovered.
