Biography

Saint Marie-Madeleine Postel, auntie to Bl. Placide Viel. Instructed by the Benedictines at Valognes, France. Director of a school for young ladies at age 28. At the point when the school was shut during the French Revolution, she utilized the structure to house criminal priests. Franciscan tertiary at age 52, taking the name Marie-Madeleine. Established the Poor Daughters of Mercy at Cherburg, France in 1807 when she was 61. The Daughters are instructors and medical caretakers, and at the season of Marie’s demise 30 years after the fact, they had 37 houses.
