Biography
Saint Marthe, Hitched to a man named John from Edessa; she had recently made a private promise of virginity yet got a disclosure that she ought to consent to the organized marriage. Mother of Saint Simeon Stylites the Younger. Bereft when Simeon was youthful, she dedicated herself to his Christian training. Visionary who got ghosts of Saint John the Baptist and of blessed messengers.
