St. Mel of Ardagh Biography
St. Mel of Ardagh was the son of Conis and saint Darerca and brother to Saint Melchu. He traveled with Patrick and helped preach in Ireland. after some time, he was ordained the Bishop of Ardagh, Ireland by Patrick. Mel is said to have professed Saint Brigid of Ireland of becoming a nun.
Because Mel lived with her aunt and assisted her on the farm, gossips developed about their relationship. To prove God was on their side, Mel and the aunt prayed each day and then performed a miracle. Mel plowed a live fish from the farmland while Lupait the aunt packed live coal without being burned.
