Biography
Saint Monulphus of Tongeren-Maastricht, during the late 6th and early 7th centuries was bishop of Tongeren-Maastricht, Netherlands. Died of natural causes in the early 7th century at Maastricht. Laid to rest in the nave of the church of St. Servatius in Maastricht. both the corpeses of St. Monulph and St. Gondulph were solemnly uncovered in 1039 by Bishop Nithard of Liège and Gerard of Florennes, Bishop of Cambrai; records of this occurrence were later mis-read offering ascend to a legend wherein the two St.s emerged from their tombs in 1039 so as to help at the commitment of Aachen church. Re-buried in a stone coffin in the sepulcher of the Basilica of St. Servatius in Maastricht.
