Saint’s Biography

Saint Mozio of Constantinople was born in Amphipolis, Macedonia, in a rich imperial Roman family. Mozio became a priest and was ordered by Governor Laodicio to sacrifice to the god Bacchus, which Mozio refused. He was beheaded in 295 in Constantinople (modern Istanbul, Turkey) and a church was built over his grave in 402.
