Blessed Félix González Tejedor was a faithful priest who loved God and served His people with courage.
He was born on April 17 1888 in Ledesma, Salamanca, Spain. As a young man, he felt called to religious life and joined the Salesians in Madrid.
He made his religious vows in 1907 and was ordained a priest on July 18 1915. As a priest, he worked hard to serve the Church, especially through prayer, teaching, and care for others.
During the Spanish Civil War, many priests and religious were persecuted because of their faith. On July 20 1936, Father Félix was arrested together with his religious community.
After some time, he was released. Instead of hiding or giving up, he bravely returned to his priestly work, continuing to serve God and His people.
Because of this, he was arrested again. On August 24 1936, in Madrid, he was killed for his faith. He gave his life as a true witness to Christ, forgiving and trusting in God until the end. For this reason, the Church honors him as a martyr.
On October 28 2007, Pope Benedict XVI declared him Blessed, recognizing his faithful witness and sacrifice.
May the life of Blessed Félix González Tejedor inspire us to remain strong in our faith, to be faithful to Christ in difficult times, and to trust always in God’s grace.
