Saint’s Biography
Saint Opportuna was at the castle of Exmes, Argentan, Normandy, France. She was the sister of Saint Chrodegang of Séez. She became a Benedictine nun and abbess at a museum meeting near Almenêches, France, receiving a veil from her brother. Legend says that farmers stole the donkey from her convent and refused to confess his crimes. Opportuna prayed to God; The next day, the farmer’s farm was sown with salt. The framer returned the donkey and gave the land to the nuns.
Death
Opportuna died on April 22, 770 from a brief illness compounded by grief from the death of her brother. Her remains were taken to the priory of Moussy, France, in 1009, and then to Senlis, France.
