Saint Panteleon Biography
Saint Panteleon, a Christian doctor of Emperor Maximian. Lifelong layman and bachelor. At some point he gave up his belief and fell into a worldly and idolatrous crowd. Eventually he was overwhelmed with sadness and returned to church with the help of the priest Hermolaus. Brought his father to faith. He gave the poor his fortune, treated them medically and never attacked. Some of his healings were miraculous and were accomplished through prayer.
Denounced by other doctors to the anti-Christian authorities during the persecution of Diocletian. By the time he was asked to pray, he would heal the incurables – his or the pagan priests. The Gentiles did not help the man, a paralyzed paralyzed man, but Pantaleon healed the man by mentioning the name of Jesus. Many of the witnesses were converted.
