Saint Paul of the Cross Biography
St. Paul of the Cross was`also known as Paolo Francesco Danei. He was the son of a trader, Paul was a pious youth. In the wake of accepting a dream, and keeping in mind that still a layman, he established the Congregation of Discalced Clerks of the Most Holy Cross and Passion (Passionists) in 1721 to lecture about Jesus Crucified.
Evangelist of such power that solidified warriors and highwaymen apparently wept. At a certain point, every one of the siblings in the Order betrayed him, yet in 1741 his standard was affirmed by Pope Benedict XIV, and the network started to develop once more. Appointed in 1727 by Pope Benedict XIII. Teacher.
