St. Protasius of Lausanne Biography
St. Protasius of Lausanne was a Seventh-century priest known for his austerity and his ministry to the Widows, Orphans and the homeless poor. He later served as the Bishop of Lausanne, Kingdom of Burgundy, Switzerland.
He rebuilt and expanded St. Maure chapel and also supported the construction of the church and monastery in Baulmes, Switzerland. Rebuilt the cathedral of Lausanne after destruction by invading pagans. He had a fatal accident that killed him while visiting the workmen who were cutting timber to build the cathedral.
