Saint Rene Goupil Biography
St. Rene Goupil was also known as Renatus Goupil. He entered the Jesuit noviate in Paris, France. However, his deafness avoided his joining the request. He examined drug, and in 1639 offered to function as a doctor for the Jesuit evangelists in America.
Preacher to the Hurons, filling in as a donné, a layman who worked without pay. Worked in a clinic in Quebec, Canada in 1640. An aide to Saint Isaac Jogues on his minister voyages. While they were in imprisonment, Father Isaac got Rene into the Jesuits as a religious sibling. First saint in North America. His passing by tomahawk in the head prompted his support of individuals who work with or get anaesthesia.
