Saint’s Biography

Saint Richard was born about 1197 in England. He and his younger brother were left orphans. St. Richard gave up his studies to manage their estates. He refused a great offer for marriage to go into priesthood.

St. Richard of Chichester Education

He studied priesthood at Oxford. In 1235 St. Richard was appointed Oxford’s chancellor and he become archbishop of Canterbury.

His Death

Richard de Wych died on April 3 1253 at Dover, Kent, England of natural causes.
