Saint’s Biography
Saint Romedio of Nonsberg was born in the 300s (600s or 1000s) In Austria. According to ancient accounts, Romedio came from the family of the Counts of Thaur. In his youth, he learned to read the Bible and the stories of the saints. As an adult, he gave away his fortune to support churches in the Tyrol, turned a family castle into a monastery, and then went on a pilgrimage to the tombs of the Apostles. Romedio later lived as a hermit in Sanzeno on Nonsberg near Salzburg.
