St Ethelburga of Wessex was born in England and died of natural causes in Rome, Italy. She was a Queen of Wessex (part of modern England) from 688 AD to 726 AD, married to Saint Ina of Wessex.
Late in life, Ina abdicated, and the couple moved to Rome, Italy where they spent their time caring for English pilgrims and praying at the tombs of the saints.
