St Suranus of Sora was murdered by Lombard invaders in 580 AD at his monastery in Sora, Italy.
He was an abbot of a monastery in Sora, Italy and also a martyr. When the Lombards invaded the region, Suranus gave away all the goods of the monastery to refugees.
When the Lombards reached the monastery and found nothing left to plunder, they murdered Suranus for spite.
Saint Bertrand of Saint Quentin
