St. Theoctiste of Lesbos Biography
St. Theoctiste of Lesbos was an orphaned child where she was raised in a convent. She was kidnapped by Arab raiders and taken into slavery on Paros island. Later, she escaped and lived as a hermitess for over 30 years in an old church where she was discovered one day by a hunter, Simon. She begged him to bring her communion when he could. The hunter returned a year later where she had her first Communion and died soon afterwards.
