He was born in the 6th century AD in Luighne, Sligo, Ireland.

St Nathy was canonized in 1903 through cultus confirmation.

He is the patron saint of the Diocese and City of Achonry, Ireland. We celebrate his feast day on August 9 every year in the Catholic Church.

St Nathy Life History

St Nathy was a spiritual student of Saint Finnian of Clonnard. He became a priest and founded a church and monastery at Achonry, Ireland which later became a renowned center for learning and piety.

He became the spiritual teacher of Saint Fechin of Fobar and was known for his personal sanctity and he spent his entire life spreading the faith.

St Nathy was canonized in 1903 through cultus confirmation. He is the patron saint of the Diocese and City of Achonry, Ireland.
