St Pere Sans Jorda, also known as Pedro Sanz, is one of the Martyrs of China, born on September 3 1680 in Ascó, Tarragona, Spain. He was beheaded on May 26 1747 in Fuzhou, Fujian, China and died as a martyr for his faith. We celebrate his feast day on May 26 every year in the Catholic Church and on July 9 as one of the Martyrs of China.

St Pere Sans Jorda Life History
Saint Pere Sans Jorda joined the Dominicans in 1697 and was ordained as a priest on September 24 1704. In 1712he went to the Philippines as a missionary and thereafter moved to China the following year.
On January 29 1728, he became the co-adjutor vicar apostolic of Fo-Kien, China. On February 24 1730, he became the bishop co-adjutor and titular bishop of Mauricastro. On January 3 1732, he became the Vicar apostolic of Fujian.
Saint Pere Sans Jorda was imprisoned in 1746 and beheaded on May 26 1747 in Fuzhou, Fujian, China, and died as a martyr for his faith.
