Parish Short History
St.Peter’s began on June 15, 1962. James Adams, a local architect along with Thornton Construction Company, built the first church on the property, seating 300 persons; the first Mass was offered on December 16, AD 1962.
The Church subsequently enlarged in 1970 and remained as the Church until 1980 when under the spiritual leadership of Msgr. Francis Wade (1969-1981), a new church was built and dedicated on August 9, AD 1981.Monsignor Edwin Bobe was appointed its first pastor.
Today the new sanctuary seats approximately 1,000 people and the Church has a membership of over 1300 families.
The Church offers a full range of activities both in the parish as well as outreach to the local and international community.
Saint Peter’s celebrates Mass in Spanish on Wednesday evenings at 6:00 p.m. and Sunday at 12:45 p.m.
