St Quadratus of Athens Life History

Quadratus had a rich background in Greek literature and this helped foster a cordial relationship with both Christians and pagans in his diocese.

He was the first person to write an apology for Christianity in a letter addressed to Emperor Hadrian in 124 AD. This is quoted in the early martyrologies and in the works by Saint Eusebius and Saint Jerome.
