st Reading – ACTS 18:1-8
Paul departed from Athens, and he came to Corinth.
And finding a certain Jew, named Aquila, born in Pontus, who had recently come from Italy, with Priscilla his wife, (because that Claudius had commanded all Jews to depart from Rome,) he visited them.
And because he was of the same trade, he remained with them, and wrought; (now they were tentmakers by trade.)
And he reasoned in the synagogue every sabbath, bringing in the name of the Lord Jesus; and he persuaded the Jews and the Greeks.
And when Silas and Timothy came from Macedonia, Paul was earnest in preaching, testifying to the Jews, that Jesus is the Christ.
When they opposed him and reviled him, he shook his garments and said to them: Your blood be upon your own heads; I am clean: from henceforth I will go unto the Gentiles.
So he left there and he entered into the house of a certain man, named Titus Justus, one that worshipped God, whose house was adjoining to the synagogue.
And Crispus, the ruler of the synagogue, believed in the Lord, with all his house; and many of the Corinthians hearing, believed, and were baptized.

Gospel – John 16:16-20
Jesus said to his disciples: “A little while, and now you shall not see me; and again a little while, and you shall see me: because I go to the Father.”
Then some of the disciples said one to another: What is this that he said to us: A little while, and you shall not see me; and again a little while, and you shall see me, and, because I go to the Father?
So they said, “What is this ‘little while’ of which he speaks? We do not know what he means.”
Jesus knew that they wanted to ask him, so he said to them, “Are you discussing with one another what I said, ‘A little while and you will not see me, and again a little while and you will see me’?
Amen, amen I say to you, that you shall lament and weep, but the world shall rejoice; and you shall be made sorrowful, but your sorrow shall be turned into joy
