Blessed Alanus of Sassovivo, Benedictine monk in late thirteenth century Austria. Explorer to Rome, Italy for the Holy Year of 1300. Joined the Benedictine Sassovivo Abbey which was near Foligno, Italy. Left communal life in 1311 to live his residual years as a hermit.
