Blessed Arnaldo Serra was a Mercedarian who while ransoming Christians from Muslim captivity in Tunis, Tunisia in 1492 AD, was imprisoned, tortured, and died as a martyr due to hunger and thirst in the Tunis prison together with 30 fellow Christians. We celebrate her feast day on May 20 every year in the Catholic Church.

Bl Arnaldo Serra was a Mercedarian who freed Christian slaves from Muslim kidnappers on a mission to Tunisia. He was imprisoned, tortured, and left to die in prison in 1492 with other 30 fellow Christians.
He died of hunger and thirst.
