Blessed Benito Solana Ruiz Biography
Blessed Benito Solana Ruiz, the son of a village carpenter. Against the will of his parents Benito entered 1913 in the novitiate of the Passionists in Corella, Spain. He was not a great student, had problems with the early study at the seminary and became a brother of the Order. Cook and tailor for the Passionist house in Daimiel, Spain. Tailor and porter of a house in Santa Clara, Cuba, 1919. Relocated to Tacubaya, Mexico in 1922, but what remembered Daimiel when anti-Catholic persecutions began in Mexico. Nurse and tailor in Zaragoza, Spain. Suffered from rheumatism. Known for his patience, humility and charity, especially in the sick. Martyr in the Spanish Civil War.
