Blessed Christian O’Conarchy was born in 1100 AD at Bangor, County Down, Ireland. He was a spiritual student and archdeacon of Saint Malachy O’More at Armagh, Ireland.

Christian Received the Cistercian habit at Clairvaux, France in 1139 AD from Saint Bernard of Clairvaux. He was also the head of the monks of the first Cistercian monastery in Ireland in 1142 AD.

He was the Bishop of Lismore, Ireland in 1150 AD. Papal legate for Ireland. In his old age, he retired to live as a prayerful monk at Odorney Abbey.
