Blessed Convoyon of Redon Life History

Bl Convoyon of Redon was born in 788 Saint-Malo, Brittany in France. He was of noble descent and received a superb education under Bishop Rainer of Vannes, who dedicated him to the deacon and then to a priest. He even appointed Convoyon to be his Archdeacon.

But Convoyon was passionate about longing to serve God more, so with five clergymen they went out into the wilderness and settled in a forest. People joined them, thus a monastery was established, and Convoyon led as an abbot. He was a spiritual teacher of Saint Fidweten.

The monastery was attacked by Invading Norseman, and they drove him into exile where he spent his last years.
