Blessed Dionysius of Semur Life History
Dionysius of Semur was a Mercedarian professor of theology in France. He ransomed 109 Christians enslaved by Muslims in Algiers in 1534.
All through the journey, to and from Algiers, he preached Christianity for which he was abused, ridiculed, and tormented.
He died of natural causes in mid-16th-century in the Mercedarian convent in Narbonne, France.
