Françoise Tréhet Biography

Blessed Françoise Tréhet was Born on 8 April 1756. She was born to the nobility and grew up in a family of wealthy land-owners. Françoise Joined the Soeurs de la Charité de Notre-Dame d’Evron (Sisters of Charity of Our Lady of Evron), dedicated to the education of children and care of the sick. She then began teaching at the parish school of St-Pierre-des-Landes in 1783.
She was martyred in the French Revolution for refusing to take the oaths of allegiance to the state and also helping to hide priests who had also refused. Francesca then started singing the Salve Regina as she climbed the scaffold to the guillotine.

She was guillotined on 13 March 1794 AD in Laval, Mayenne, France. Her relics are enshrined at the church of St-Pierre-des-Landes where she had taught.
