Blessed Gerardo Mecatti Life History
Bl. Gerardo Mecatti was inspired by St Francis of Assisi and he distributed all his wealth to the poor and became a hermit. From his hermitage, he used to come to the city for;
- The Holy Mass
- To pray in Churches for the conversion of non-Christians, and the souls in Purgatory
- To care for the sick
- To offer any help he could give to pilgrims
Bl. Gerardo Mecatti was beatified on May 18 1833 by Pope Gregory XVI through cultus confirmation.
