Bl. Giacomo Abbondo Biography
Bl. Giacomo Abbondo was second of six children born to Carlo Abbondo and Francesca Maria. He was greatly influenced by his uncle Father Giovanni Carlo Abbondo.
He joined a school at Tronzano and Vercelli, Italy and was later ordained in the diocese of Vercelli on March 21, 1744. He received dispensation for the ordination from Pope Clement XII since he was underage.
He was known as an excellent preacher rekindling the faith of his flock by leading retreats and developing a reputation for holiness.
