Bl. Henry of Segusio Biography
Bl. Henry of Segusio was also known as Hostiensis. Since he studied civil and canon law at Bologna, Italy, He taught in Bologna. He taught canon law in Paris, France. Diplomat from the court of King Henry III to Pope Innocent IV.
He was the Provost of the diocese of Antibes, France. Also, he was the Chaplain to the pope. In 1244, he became Bishop of Sisteron, France. Laater, he became Archbishop of Embrun, France in 1250. Henry was the Cardinal–Bishop of Ostia and Velletri on 4 December 1261.
He attended the conclave that elected Pope Gregory X. Unfortunately, his health prevented him from voting. He also Wrote a number of treaties on canon law.
