Blessed Jacques Netsetov

Blessed Jacques Netsetov was born in Alaska to a Russian father and an Aleut mother.

He studied at the seminary in Irkutsk, Russia, and became a priest. He became a missionary to the indigenous people on the Aleutian Islands, where he travelled by kayak and dogsled. Time after time he had to deal with the opposition of native shamans.

He translated the New Testament into the Youpik language. He died in 1865 AD.

Saint Benigno of Malcestine

St Benigno of Malcestine was also known as BĂ©nigne. Around 800 AD, he was an Augustinian hermit in the Malcesine area on the shore of Lake Garda near Verona, Italy.

He was a spiritual director who was much sought by many because of his wisdom, piety, and deep prayer life.

Saint Simeon of Padolirone

St Simeon of Padolirone was an Armenian hermit and a miracle worker. He was a Pilgrim to various destinations including Jerusalem, Rome, Italy, Compostella, Spain, and Tours, France.

He was a monk at Padolirone Abbey near Padua, Italy, and died in 1016 AD.

Blessed Évangéliste of Verona

Blessed Évangéliste of Verona was also known as Evangelist. He was born in Verona, Italy in the 13th century.

He was an Augustinian hermit in the area of Verona, Italy. Later he became a priest. He died of natural causes in 1250 AD.

In 1837, he was beatified by Pope Gregory XVI through a cultus confirmation.

Blessed Pérégrin of Verona

Blessed Pérégrin was also known as Peregrine.

He was born in Verona, Italy in the 13th century. He was an Augustinian hermit in the area of Verona, Italy. Later he became a priest. He died of natural causes in 1250 AD.

In 1837, he was beatified by Pope Gregory XVI through a cultus confirmation.

Blessed George Swallowell

Blessed George Swallowell was born in Shadforth, Durham, England. He was a Layman schoolmaster and Protestant minister.

He converted to Catholicism and this led to his execution on July 26 1594, at Darlington, England. He died as a martyr.

On December 15 1929, he was beatified by Pope Pius XI.

Saint Symphronius was a slave in imperial Rome. He helped bring to faith Saint Theodulus the Martyr, Saint Olympius the Tribune, and Saint Exuperia the Martyr. He was martyred by being burned to death in 257 AD during the persecutions of Valerian.

St Olympius the Tribune was married to Saint Exuperia the Martyr. He was the father of Saint Theodulus the Martyr. He was converted to the Christian faith by Saint Symphronius the Slave.

Saint Exuperia the Martyr

St Exuperia the Martyr was the wife to Saint Olympius the Tribune and mother of Saint Theodulus the Martyr. She was converted to the Christian faith by Saint Symphronius the Slave.

She was martyred by being burned to death in 257 AD during the persecutions of Valerian.

Saint Charus of Malcestine

St Charus of Malcestine was also known as Caro. Around 800 AD, he was an Augustinian hermit in the Malcesine area on the shore of Lake Garda near Verona, Italy.
