Blessed’s Biography
Blessed Idesbald was born around 1090 in Belgium to aristocratic family. Van der Gracht. He spent the youth at the court of the count of Flanders.
In 1135 he was canned at St. Walburga in Furnes in Flanders. Bl. Idesbald of Dunes was a widower when he became a priest. After a while he resigned from the office of becoming a Cistercian monk in the Monastery of Our Lady of the Dune (12 years).

He died in 1167 in Dune and was buried in a coffin in the monastery church.
