Blessed’s Biography

Blessed James Oldo was born in 1364 in a small town in Italy. His parents were Marchese Oldi and Fiordonina. His father died while he was young and left him a legacy that made him a wealthy man. Bl. James Oldo married Caterina Bocconi, and they had three children. He first lived as a wayward and enjoyable living man.

Bl. James Oldo took care of the sick and poor. His mother and wife opposed his decision, but later changed and joined his mission. The family spent their later years working with the sick and the prisoners taken in the civil war in Lodi.

In 1397, upon his wife, James Oldo became a priest, and he converted one of his houses into a chapel. Jame was blessed with the gift of prophecy; predicted wars and his own death.
