Bl. Jerome de Angelis Biography
Bl. Jerome de Angelis was a Jesuit priest. He sailed to Japan shortly after ordination which took him six years to arrive. On arrival, he found the prosecution of Christians where he spent 12 years working with the Nagasaki Christians.
A command expelled Jesuits nad ended Catholic missions in Japan in the year 1614. He went into hiding and ministered to Japanese Christians in secret identifying himself as a merchant.
In 1623, he was found out by the authorities and killed with 47 others.
