Bl. Klara Szczesna Biography
Bl. Klara Szczesna was the sixth born of the eleven children of Antony and Frances. She was baptized in the parish of Lubowidzu, Poland and was educated at home by her mother who later died when she was 12.
The father started forcing her into marriage at age 17 something which she refused and left home with the aim of devoting herself to God. Klara worked as a seamstress in Mlawa, Poland for five years. She was a spiritual student of Saint Blessed Honorat Kozminski and later joined the servants of Jesus in 1885 AD.
She was the founder of the Sister Servants of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus on April 15, 1894, where she took the name, Klara. Klara then served as its first superior-general and opened 30 other houses.
