Blessed’s Biography
Blessed Ladislas of Gielniów was born 1440 AD in Gniezno, Poland. He studied at the University of Warsaw, Poland and joined the Franciscan Order of Friars Minor Observant. Bl. Ladislas duties were doorkeeper at the monastery. In 1487 and 1496 Bl. Ladislas was elected provincial of his Order. The work they did bought many schismatics back to the Church.
Bl. Ladislas traveled across Poland, preaching the gospel from one end to the other. In 1498 Ladislas led a prayer campaign to protect Poland from invading Tatars and Turks and the victory attributed to the prayer warriors. He was an Abbot of the Warsaw monastery.
Death
Ladislas died on May 4, 1505, of natural causes.
