Blessed Mieczyslawa Kowalska Biography
Blessed Mieczyslawa Kowalska, growing up in a socialist family. On August 12, 1923, she joined the nuns of the poor Capuchin Klara in Przasnysz, Poland, and adopted the name of Maria Teresa of the Infant Jesus. She made her eternal vows on June 26, 1928. She was arrested on April 2, 1941 by the invading Germans with her sister and sent to a concentration camp in East Prussia. Murdered in Poland by Nazis because they refused to give up their beliefs.
