Blessed’s Biography
Blessed William Southerne was educated at the English College at Douai, France, and the College of Saint Alban, Valladolid, Spain. Bl. William Southerne became a priest in Spain and returned to England to minister to covert Catholics, mainly in Northumberland. While celebrating Mass, William was arrested and condemned to death for the crime of priesthood.

Bl. William Southerne was hanged, drawn, and quartered on 30 April 1618 at Newcastle-upon-Tyne, England.
