Christian Prayer

Prayers are an important part of christian life. A christian prayer is the perfect way to start your day in Gods grace. We communicate to our Heavenly Father to help us start the day on the path of righteousness, we also pray for guidance from the Holy Spirit and the Lord Jesus Christ.

There are other prayers we can say. In the morning and through out the day to make sure we are living as the Father intended. As Christians we do not have a shortage of prayers, some of the prayers we can use to commune with our heavenly Father include:

Christian Morning Prayer

“O Loving and Holy God, who is beyond our understanding. At your word, light came forward from out of the darkness. In your mercy, you gave us peace through the night-long sleep, and woke us up to glorify your goodness and to offer our praises to You. Father, now in your own tender love, accept us who worship You and give thanks to You with all our heart. Give us all we request, if they lead to salvation.

Grant us the grace of acknowledging that we are children of light and day, and heirs to your eternal reward. In your infinite mercies, O Lord, remember all your people. All those present who pray with us. Also all our brothers and sisters. On land, at sea, or in the air, in every place of Your domain, who call upon your love for mankind. Out of all, pour down your great mercy, that we, saved in body and in soul, may persevere unfailingly. That, in our confidence, we may acclaim your exalted and blessed Name, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, always, now and forever. Amen.”

Christian Prayer for Healing

“Dear Jesus, thank you that you love [name of patient who needs healing]. I know that you frown upon what their illness is doing to them/me. Lord, I ask, in the name of Jesus, that you would cure this disease. I ask that you have compassion and bring healing from all sickness.

Your word says in Psalm 107:19-20. That when we call out to you the Eternal one, you will give the order, heal and save us from certain death. In the Bible, I have come across miraculous healing and I believe that you still heal the same way today. I believe that there is no illness you cannot heal. After all the bible tells of you raising people from the dead so I ask for your healing in this occasion.

I also know from my experience in life on earth that not everyone is healed. If that happens here then please keep my heart gracious towards you, help me to understand your plan and help me to be excited to go to heaven.

Lord Jesus, thank you that our faith for healing is in you. If there are doctors or treatments that you would want to use to heal this disease. I pray that you would guide [name of person in need in healing] to them. I ask for wisdom and understanding about which treatments to pursue.

Lord, I thank you that [name of person who needs healing] belongs to you and that you are in control of everything that happens from our first breath to our last sigh. Amen.”

Christian Prayer – Christian Night Prayer

Loving God, we praise You tonight for a good day. For the special way in which You take care of us all the time. Thank You for the joyful times outside and the quiet times inside. For helping us learn new things every day.

Lord, thank You for making us special, exactly the way You wanted. Thank You for Your protection throughout the day. Forgive us for the wrong things we do. Thank You for loving us even when we do not listen or try to do things our way. Help us to always choose your way, God, because it’s always best. We pray for all the people who don’t know You. That they will come to understand your love for them, too.

Father, bless our family and thank You for good times together and apart. Bless our friends and those we love, including our grandparents, our aunts and uncles and cousins. Thank You for our home and a place to sleep and good food to eat. Help us rest well, give us peaceful dreams, and send Your angels around our home to protect us throughout the night. Teach us to trust You and to love You more and more. You are good; You are great; and You are faithful, God. And we love You. Good night. In Jesus’s precious name, Amen.”

Christian Prayer for Forgiveness

“Father, I’m in that place again
On my knees.
Placing my life out before You.
Thank you for on the cross you cried
“It is finished.”
You have done it
Forgiveness is complete.
I can live forever in Your grace,
Forever in Your love

Lord, so I ask now for Your forgiveness
for the wrongs that I have done.
For all the things that I have neglected,
I ask for Your forgiveness.
For the people I have wronged along the way
and those who I have failed to love as You love.
I ask for Your forgiveness

I accept Your forgiveness
And resolve in to my heart.
That with Your strength
I determine not to repeat these errors again.
I receive Your forgiveness
and by the power of Your Holy Spirit.
I turn away from everything I know to be wrong
and embrace everything I know about You.
For the kingdom, the power and the glory
Are always and forever Yours
Amen.”

Christian Prayer – Christian Lord’s Prayer

“Our Father who art in heaven,
Hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come.
Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us,
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
and the power, and the glory,
for ever and ever
Amen.”

Christian Prayer – Prayer for Christian Unity

“Loving God, you have asked of us
to make our common home a place of justice for all.
In your boundless love, you send rain
on the righteous and the unrighteous
and, in Jesus, teach us to love without prejudice.
We confess that we have failed to follow this teaching by:
disrespecting our neighbors;
spreading false information through various social media; participating in the disturbance of social harmony.
Our behavior risks making the world a barren field
that no longer brings forth your justice for all of creation.
May almighty God have mercy on us, forgive our sins and lead us to eternal life.
Amen.”

Christian Prayer for Protection

“Blessed Jesus, evil is such a bad word, and yet Your Word uses it frequently to describe the opposite of good. While we are all able to sin, I ask Your protection from those who call good evil, and evil good. Protect us from those who have plans against righteousness and from those who twist truth into lies to accomplish their evil motives. May Your angels stay ever near to dispel fear and fight against dark, spiritual forces we are not aware of. Help us cast down every imagination and thought that our enemy tries to use to glorify itself against You.

You dealt our spiritual enemy a fatal blow on Calvary when you died on the cross for us and were resurrected on the third day. While evil still roams, the power of Your Name and Your blood arises to defeat and bring us victory against every evil intent against us. While spiteful actions may disturb us, we use the armor of God You have given us to stand firm. You will bring justice in perfect time for all the harm and needless violence aimed at Your children. Until then, we are in Your presence, in step with Your purposes, and we look to You as our Supreme Commander and Protector. Lord, help us to avoid temptation, and deliver us from evil. You are the Mighty One, the One Who will finally bring all evil to light. With You, Jesus, we are safe. Amen.”

Christian Prayer – Christian Evening Prayer

“Holy and merciful Father, as we come to the end of yet another day, I pray that You will wrap your protective arms over me and my family. Cover us with your watchful angels and keep us well and safe from all harm and spiritual attacks.

Heavenly Father, I count myself lucky for the wonderful family members You’ve surrounded me with, though I may not always appreciate them. Give us peace and love towards one another. Tame the quarreling tongue. Bring us close to each other.

Father, I pray for my family members who are not Christians, who have not offered their lives to Christ. Bless them, loving Father, with understanding and wisdom. May they come to know you and have a relationship with you. In Jesus all-powerful name I pray, Amen!”

Christian Prayer for the Sick

“Loving Father,

You know [name of friend or family member] so much better than I ever will. You know their sickness and the burden they carry. Lord, You also know their heart. Lord, I ask you to be with my friend now as you work in their life.

God, let Your will be done in my friend’s life. If there is a sin that needs to be confessed and forgiven, please help them to see their need to confess.

Father, I pray for my friend just as your Word tells me to pray, for healing. I believe you hear this humble prayer from my heart and that it is powerful because of your promise. I have faith in you, Lord, that you can heal my friend, but I also trust in the plan you have for their life.

Lord, I don’t always comprehend your ways. I don’t understand why my friend has to suffer, but I trust in you. I pray that you look with mercy and grace toward my friend. Comfort his spirit and soul in this time of suffering and nourish him with your presence.

Father, let my friend know you are there with them during this difficult time. Give them strength. May you, through this difficulty, be glorified in their life and also in mine. Amen.”

Christian Prayer for Love

“Heavenly Father, We adore You for Your great salvation plan for us. Your beloved Son, Lord Jesus Christ, who came down to this world as a living sacrifice. In all His time on earth, He lived His life upon Your will, and loved and served the world.

We pray Father, that we become great examples like our Lord Jesus. Lord, May we learn to love and serve those around us who need our services and offerings of love.

Blessed Jesus Christ, we love You and we glorify You. We offer to You thanks for Your great Love. Lord, We praise You, for You came to fulfill our Heavenly Father’s will.

Jesus, we pray and pledge that we will walk with love. May we be of service to as many as we can in our lives as You called us to be, as is the Father’s will.

Lord Jesus, may Your life of love and service be our example of love and service to the under-privileged, the abandoned and the needy among us.

Help us, Lord, to love beyond measure, without expecting anything in return and without limitations, those who need our love.

Those in prison,  rehabilitation centers, and the homeless shelters.

The elderly who are disowned and lonely and look forward to seeing someone visiting them and extending love and words of comfort.

Father, may we organize our time and resources to visit them frequently and extend our love, support and blessings.

Lord, may we, in all our capabilities, not forget to visit the slums and street dwellers. Help us to have a caring heart, to make time and gather as much help and resources as we can and offer them our offerings of love. Amen.”

Christian Prayer – Prayer for New Christian

“Caring heavenly Father, my heart is full of joy and gratitude that I have trusted in Jesus as my Lord and Savior. Thank You Lord Jesus, that you died to pay the price for my sins. Thank You that You died on the cross for me and took all the punishment that I deserve. I thank You that You forgave me for my sins as a free gift of Your loving grace. I praise and adore You for coming to earth as a Man. For living a perfect life so that You could become the sacrifice for MY sin. Without which I would have remained dead in my wrong doing and without hope in the world.

There are no words that are enough to explain my thanks and praise to You. But Lord I thank You for this new beginning. This fresh start when I can step out into the world knowing that I have been saved. having been accepted into Your family as a child of God. Lord I want to know more and more about You and plead that day by day You would open up my eyes to see You and my ears to hear You. Open up the scripture so that I may come to a deeper understanding of You.

Thank You God. For being my Father and thank You for my new life in Christ which I have received by mercy through faith. Thank You that nothing can ever separate me from Your love and thank You that I have a guarantee that I will one day see You in heaven and know You, even as I am known. Thank You, in Jesus precious name, Amen.

Christian Prayer – Prayer to Become a Christian

“Heavenly Father, I come before You right now, in the Name of your most Holy Son, Jesus Christ, asking You to receive me as a Christian.

Lord, as You say in Your word, that if I confess my sins and ask forgiveness. You are faithful and will pardon my sins and remember them no more.  You will not hold them against me and You will give me everlasting life.

Heavenly Father, I confess that I have sinned against You. I have not followed Your commandments and I have broken Your laws. I confess all my sins and ask for Your forgiveness.

Lord, I believe that Jesus Christ, Your only begotten Son, came to Earth. That He lived among us, and that He was crucified to pay for our sins. I believe that You raised Him from death and gave Him power over all of creation.

Blessed Lord, right now I take Your Son Jesus Christ as my Savior and as the Stewart of my life. Please send the Holy Spirit to guide me, shield me, lead me and counsel me. Send Your angels to hover around me and protect me. Protect me from the Devil and his evil forces. Lord, help me grow in wisdom, knowledge and love for You and Your ways. Give me the capability and courage to change my ways and resist the Devil and avoid sin in the future.

Lord, I praise You for sending Your only Son to die so that I may live.

Father, I ask these things in Your most holy and precious name, and I thank You for allowing me to be a Christian. Amen!”

Simple Christian Prayer

“Heavenly Father forgive us, for the wrongs we have done that make us feel unworthy in Your presence. All the appearances that we polish so carefully for men to see does not deceive You. Lord, For you know every thought that has left its mark on our memory. You have marked every motive that stirred something sweet within us. Father, we acknowledge with bitterness and true repentance that cross and selfish thoughts have entered our minds.

We accept that we have permitted our minds to stray through unclean and forbidden paths. Father, we have played with that which we knew was not for us. Also we have desired that which we should not have. Lord, we know that often we have conned ourselves where our plain duty lay. We confess before You that our ears are often closed to the whisper of Your call, our eyes often shut to the signs of your guidance, make us willing to change, even though it means surgery of the soul and the therapy of discipline. Make our hearts warm and soft, that we may accept now the blessing of Your forgiveness, the benediction of Your “Depart in peace . . and sin no more.” Amen.” -Peter Marshall

Christian Prayer online

“It is For this reason I kneel before you Father, from whom this whole family in heaven and on earth acquires its name. I pray that out of his bountiful riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit. So that in your inner being, Jesus Christ may dwell in our hearts through faith. I pray that you, being anchored and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how long and wide, high and deep is the love of Christ.

To know this love that transverses knowledge that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. Now to Him who is able to do infinitely more than all we ask or imagine. According to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus. Throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.”Ephesians 3:14-21
