Blessed Antonio of Valladolid, Mercedarian monk. Bible researcher. provincial of the Order in Castile. Guide to Spanish rulers. Sent the first Mercedarian evangelists to America in the wake of recieving consent from Pope Alexander VI in 1493. Made a trip to numerous places of worship in Spain, attempting to rejuvenate the faith. Known for his unending philanthropy to poor people.
