Blessed’s Biography
Blessed Luc of Roucy was born once in late-11th century Roucy, France. His sister was the Blessed Irmengard, who married Count Guntarius. Luc became a priest and dean of Laon, but around 1114-16, he left this world’s empty pleasures and retired to live as a hermit at Cuissy-et-Geny, France. His brother-in-law, Count Guntarius, founded a monastery for them there.
In 1122, the community joined the Premonstratensians founded by Saint Norbert of the Xanten in 1120. In 1124, the community became an abbey and Luke as the first abbot.
Death
Luc died in the 12th century of natural causes.
