Bl. Luigia Poloni Biography

Bl. Luigia Poloni was also known as Mother Vincenza Maria. She was baptized on birth being the youngest of the 12 children born to a pious family of a small businessman who ran a grocery and a pharmacy in Verona, Italy.

When her father died, she took over the family wealth. She became a spiritual student of Blessed Charles Steeb and later became a nun. Together with Charles, they founded the Sisters of Mercy of Verona to work with the elderly and abandoned girls.

The Sisters continue their good work today in Italy, Germany, Portugal, Albania, Tanzania, Angola, Burundi, Argentina, Brazil, Chile and have been joined by the affiliated Laity of Mercy.
