Blessed’s Biography
Blessed Mary Assunta was born on August 20, 1878, in the Force, Italy. She was the eldest of five children of worker Luigi Pallotta and his wife Eufrasia Casali and was baptized the following day with the name Assunta Maria Liberate. Age of two on July 7, 1880; she received her Confirmation from the Bishop of Ascoli Piceno Bartolomeo Ortolani.
Education
In 1884, she began her studies at six where she learned to read and write but did not receive a formal education. She went to school until the age of eight in 1886.
Mary Assunta became a breadwinner of the when her father left for worker overseas. She had to help her mother take care of her brothers. Mary Assunta was a joyful child everywhere she went she spread love.
On March 2, 1897, Mary realized she wanted to be a nun. In 1898, she began her journey to be a sister and was sent to Rome covenant. On October 9, 1898, she changed her name from Assunta Maria Pallotta to Sister Maria Assunta.
Work
On December 8, 1990, she was admitted to the Church of Saint Helena. In January 1902 she was moved to Florence in January 1902. After a few years, Mary’s request to join the Franciscan missions in China in January 1904.

Mary was diagnosed with typhus on March 19, 1905, and her health decline. On April 7, 1905, she died surrounded by loved ones, a strange perfume filled the house for three days. Her last word was “Eucharist! Eucharist!”. Mary was buried on April 9, 1905.
