Bl. Simon of Cassia Fidati Biography

Simon of Cassia Fidati became a member of the Augustinian Hermits when he was very young.

His initials studies were based on sciences which he later gave up on for theology. He joined the Order of Augustinian Hermits at the age of 20. He began his preaching in 1318 and was famous in Perugia, Bologna, Siena, and Florence as a brilliant preacher.

He gathered more followers due to his penance. He was also a gifted spiritual advisor and spent many nights writing guidance letter to those who sought his assistance.
