Saint’s Biography

Saint Gaudentius of Gniezno was born in 960. He was from Bohemia nobility and the younger brother of Saint Adalbert of Prague. His family was Massacre by a political rival, Radzim opt to become a monk at the Benedictine abbey of Saint Alessio in Italy. Gaudentius was sent to a mission to Prussia with Adalbert where they encountered anti-Christian massacre. St. Gaudentius managed to escape but Adalbert died. 

Later he became the archbishop of Gniezno in 1000, appointed by Otto III; he led his flock through end-of-the-world rumors that accompanied the new millennium.
