Saint’s Biography

Saint Landericus of Soignies was born in the 6th century in France. He was the eldest son of Saint Madelgarus and Saint Waldetrudis. Also, his three siblings Dentelin, Madelberta and Aldetrudis considered among the saints. His mother’s parents were Saint Walbert and Bertilia and his aunt the Saint aldeunda of Maubeuge.

Landericus was the first officer, in 641 to 650 ordained a priest. He left the priesthood to become bishop of Metz. However, he left the office as a bishop again to become a Benedictine monk when his father died in 687.
